Chateau Bonnet

In the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers, between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, lies the historic Château Bonnet, part of the prestigious Vignobles Famille André Lurton group. Founded around 1560 by the Reynier family, wealthy merchants from Libourne, the castle boasts a centuries-old history that has made it a landmark in the Bordeaux wine scene. After several changes of ownership and a past marked by the French Revolution, it was in 1897 that Léonce Récapet, grandfather of André Lurton, radically transformed the estate, planting 120 hectares of vines and modernizing the property. In 1953, André Lurton inherited Château Bonnet and made it the operational center of his wine group. Today, management is entrusted to his children and grandchildren, who continue the work with the same pioneering spirit, leading one of the most important names in Bordeaux wine, boasting over 800 hectares divided into ten distinct Châteaux.

the main Bordeaux varieties. Among the whites, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Colombard, and Muscadelle stand out, while among the reds, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon dominate, with small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The production philosophy combines technological innovation with respect for traditions: controlled fermentations, separate vinifications for parcels, and careful use of wood allow for the best expression of the terroir's identity. The group is also strongly committed to a global ecological approach, evidenced by the presence of beehives, gardens, pastures, chicken coops, and parcels managed with integrated pest management.

Among the most representative labels are the Château Bonnet Rouge and the Château Bonnet Blanc. The former, made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, is a soft and structured red, perfect with red meats and cheeses. The latter, fresh and aromatic, is ideal for aperitifs or fish dishes, thanks to its citrus and exotic notes. Each bottle reflects the elegance and balance typical of Bordeaux style, with an excellent quality-price ratio. Château Bonnet embodies the most authentic soul of Bordeaux: a winery where tradition is renewed every day, in the name of quality and continuous research, making each wine a story of the territory and its rich past.
